FAQ
Do I have to be a good swimmer in order to learn scuba diving?
The nature of scuba diving and swimming are different. You only need to be able to float or tread water for 10 minutes, swim 200 meters without time limit, or use snorkeling equipment and fins to swim 300 meters to register as a diver.
But if you are afraid of water, you can check with us first. Our instructor has succeeded in getting students who are afraid of water to overcome their fear and get a diving license, so don't give up the idea of learning to dive right away.
How to choose a diving certification agency? PADI, SSI or NAUI?
The certifications of all diving organizations are internationally recognized, which means that diving sites around the world will recognize your diving qualifications and will not allow other divers to dive because the diving center is registered by a diving organization. After all, the sea belongs to everything, and we are all sharing the beautiful scenery of the earth!
Having said that, I also wrote a blog about this if you are interested in more details
The Million Dollar Question: What is the difference between PADI, NAUI and SSI?
What is the difference between the SSI and NAUI courses you offer?
The teaching goal of all diving institutions is to train high-quality professional divers, but their characteristics may become your consideration.
SSI (Scuba Schools International)
1. It belongs to the same group as the famous diving equipment brand MARES.
2. SSI's operating model is to unite a network of diving schools around the world, requiring each diving instructor to belong to a diving school. The advantage is that it can control the quality of teaching service of each diving instructor, and the number of instructors is also determined by the number of teaching hours and the number of students.
3. SSI's APP teaching program is included in the course fee and no additional charge is required. Online learning not only reduces paper consumption, but also allows you to learn and review diving knowledge and skills, online record dive log and dive buddies anytime and anywhere.
4. Technical diving is also more professional.
NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors)
1. The International Diving Instructor Association is the first non-profit international diving education organization established in the United States.
2. Its advanced divers have been allowed to dive to a depth of 40 meters
3. Recognized by the Hong Kong Labour Department and qualified to become a commercial diver.
Why learn diving locally in Hong Kong?
Maybe you are thinking whether to learn diving overseas or in Hong Kong. Of course, the chance of clear water overseas is higher, but in fact, there are many advantages to learn diving locally.
1. Obtain a diving license before your overseas trip, and you can use your time to explore the local marine ecology during your trip. If you only go to the local church, you will have less time to really enjoy, and due to factors such as water depth limitation and insufficient light inspection, the journey will not be 100% experienced (some underwater scenes are really irresistible, it is a pity to miss!) .
2. Learning diving in Hong Kong is more flexible. If there is an emergency or illness, we are willing to cooperate with changes. If you choose to take an overseas license, you have the opportunity to even waste your ticket.
3. In Hong Kong, you can take it slow, and you can also make personalized classroom planning according to the abilities of each student. Make sure you become the most prepared and confident professional divers. Due to the tight schedule of overseas courses, it is often necessary to follow the established timetable and have the opportunity to grant licenses to students who are not fully prepared.
4. If you love diving, you must cherish the ocean! You can participate in local fun dives after your license test in Hong Kong. After practicing your neutral potential at Hong Kong sand dive sites, you can dive overseas to avoid damage to the local seabed ecology such as coral reefs. The guilt of kicking the coral, believe me, you don't want to try.
5. Familiar with Hong Kong's oceans, it is relatively easy to clean the seabed with us!
